I learned Cistus Incanus from a German family living on a farm called Nova Tero in Portugal. They called it Cistus Incarna. This wild shrub and flower grows wild in the Portuguese region where I am located and is also called Rock Rose. It looks like it has super high anti-oxidant levels and is considered one of the most polyphenol-rich edible plants! Here is a video that shows tea, herb, harvest and drinking!
It can usually be 50-100 cm long. It is an evergreen, green, dwarf shrub in winter. The leaves are cross with the next one, the top with light feathers is light green, the bottom is tapered, elliptic or lanceolate pointed towards the tip. The flowers are light pink, pink or upholstered, wrinkled or creased. The seeds are in the shape of a sphere, the seeds are covered with hair.
What is Laden Cistus Incanus good for? Polyphenol-rich foods like Cistus Incanus protect the Heart. It supports the effectiveness of vitamin C biologically and thus is highly effective in preventing colds, upper respiratory tract infections, sore throats or inflammation in the oral cavity. It is also recommended to be taken in the regulation of bowel movements.
Three glasses of rock tea are recommended per day. Tea leaves can even be used twice – they do not lose their taste. The content of polyphenols, which is only positive for our health, decreases. But don’t overdo it with Cistus tea: too much can cause complaints such as nausea and dizziness.
